La Espuma De Mi Suenos by Barry Stepe
La Espuma De Mi Suenos
in a spray of hot sea foam,
la espuma de mi suenos,
close enough to graze the essence,
the living marrow
of all the joy
that lives inside me.
Your cloudless eyes,
two suns burning in fiery concentration
laugh brilliantly
in splintered darts of circular light.
With the steady slur of the surf,
hot hands gently pull me out to sea,
to taste the roses of the sun
embedded in the flavors
of foreign lands.
I search for you
through the skin of the transparent water
as patiently as the landscape
longs for a horizon
to find its peace.
Love invades this island with a powerful, sensual breeze
adding delightful colors to our painted hearts
and blanketing us
in sheets of unfolding dreams.
Dreams that whisper hints of land
when we are far at sea,
dreams that cup the hands,
that cover the lips,
that tastes like steam
rising towards our souls
and putting them at ease.
Love that puts the day to rest
and marks it with delicate tranquility
that is the night.
